How the campus wallet works
ScrantonCoin is a closed-loop University of Scranton currency — Face ID / passkey unlock, daily +10 SCR allowance, event check-in, P2P, merchant QR, and a visible trail. Relayer pays gas so students never hold ETH. No seed phrases on the happy path.
1. Unlock with Face ID / passkey
Guests try a Sample desk; enrolled students use class login. Biometric / passkey entry — never a seed phrase. Choose Student, Business, Professor, Club, or Department (LIVE shell naming).
- Student — Pay / Notes / Earn · daily +10 SCR · SAMPLE starts 42 SCR
- Business — Merchant POS · Accept / Offers / QR / Who paid · SAMPLE 180 SCR
- Professor — extra credit engine (+SCR and +1–3% grade buffer demos) · SAMPLE pool 1000 SCR
- Club — QR terminals for dues & events · SAMPLE 40 SCR
- Department — rebalance incentive / float / dues buckets · SAMPLE pool 1000 SCR
2. Request campus allowance (+10 SCR / day)
Students request practice SCR for the closed-loop campus economy. Event check-in adds verified rewards. Language: request campus allowance — not a public crypto faucet.
3. Pay · P2P · merchant / club QR
Redeem downtown offers (Electric City Roasters, Adezzo, Northern Light, Coney Island, Pizza Bella, print lab), send to classmates, or accept as Business / Club and review Who paid. Professors award SCR (and optional grade-buffer demos labeled educational pilot). Departments allocate; they do not hold a student spend key.
4. $0 gas · see the trail
SCR transfers settle on Ethereum Sepolia with a sponsored relayer — $0 gas for students and merchants. Wallet history stays on the phone WebView.
Why custody stays on the server
Campus learners should open a phone wallet the way they open any class tool — Face ID, not writing down a seed phrase. Server-side custody keeps the happy path simple: unlock → role → allowance → pay → trail.
